You all have been so supportive, thank you so much!

No Surgery Tomorrow, BUMMER

I was just informed today that my surgery had to be postponed because of the bad weather in Flagstaff. The doctor can't make it to Show Low so I did reschedule for December 30. I will have to go to Flagstaff again. Hopefully the weather will be good for me to travel in. I will update later!

Happenings

I will be having cataract surgery on my left eye this coming Thursday. I am so excited to see if it will do the same thing the right eye did! It is so amazing to me to be able to see the clock from my bed or to see tv ads without glasses. I have really taken for granted my sight I guess.
Some bumming news for our Skyler. He tried out for the 8th grade basketball team this past week. He had gone to all of the open gyms they had and really worked hard. He got passed the first cuts and then got cut on the last one. I am really disappointed in the selection process. I know he is still trying to grow into his 6 foot 2 inch body and is still a little awkward but the boy is going to be at least 6 7" when he's through growing. He just needed the chance to be on the team to learn. He didn't need to be the starting player, he just wanted a chance. I had talked to one of the coaches last year when he didn't make it and he told me that if he made every open gym and tryout he would be on the team this year. I guess its who you are, which is really sad, especially for the kids like Skyler. He has been a real trooper about it, so I give him big kudos for that.
We finally got our Christmas tree up! The kids were a little miffed at me for not having it up on Thanksgiving day. Dave put some lights up outside so we that we won't be exiled by our neighborhood!
Hope your week goes well.

Another Eye Update

Well I had cataract surgery this past Tuesday in Flagstaff. It went way better than the last 2 surgeries I have had! I went to Dr. Blair and he said that my vision is now 20/30 in my right eye!!!!!!! I had been 20/200, and still am that way in my left eye. I have decided to have my left eye done now. There is a very high risk that it could detach also, but he thinks if we go in and tack everything down in my eye before the cataract surgery that it will have a better chance of not detaching. I can't tell you how exciting this is. I have worn glasses since I was in first grade and I have never been this low before. I can actually see the clock without my glasses on for the first time! I will let you all know more when I go in next week for my appointment.

People have been blinded by the MEDIA

I got this in my e-mail the other day. I can't believe people listen to this schmuck! These are quotes from Barak Hussein Obama's books.

How did he ever even get in the running>>!!??? HMMMMMM?!

Date: Monday, October 13, 2008, 1:42 PM
FORWARD TO ALL YOU CAN
Amazing, a democrat set this to me.

FORWARD TO ALL YOU CAN
Why is all of this going unnoticed by the media???? They send 1000 reporters to Alaska to dig up something on Sarah Palin and they have this right in front of their eyes!

From Dreams of my Father:'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'
From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'
From Dreams of My Father:'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'
From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'
From Dreams of My Father:'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

And FINALLY the Most Damning one of ALL of them!!!
From Audacity of Hope:'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'
* If you have never forwarded an e-mail, now is the time to Do so!!! We CANNOT have someone with this type of mentality running our GREAT nation!! I don't care whether you a Democrat or a Conservative. We CANNOT turn ourselves over to this type of character in a President. PLEASE help spread the word

VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!!!

Just a reminder to everyone to get out and vote. This election is more important than the last few we have had. We have so much at stake. If the "Democraps" win and get Barak Hussein Obama, Pelosi, and Reed, we are going to see some scary times ahead of us. To me Barak Hussein Obama is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He will do and say anything to get elected. Here is a man who won't respect the flag, even took it off his campaign jet. His wife has never been proud to be an American. So if Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan are all pulling for him, shouldn't that tell us something? Joe Biden has already said that Barak Hussein Obama will face an attack within the first 6 months of office.
We had Stake Conference yesterday and it was broad casted from Salt Lake. It was so awesome to hear the talks, it seems that all of the topics were about not being afraid and be prepared for the difficult times that are to come. I take strength in knowing that my family belongs to the only true church on the earth and that Heavenly Father knows us and loves us. There is to be hard times, but knowing that all things are in an eternal perspective helps me to know that all will not be lost.
Also we as Arizonans have another very important vote to get passed, Prop. 102. This has to pass or we will face what the people back East and California are dealing with. I for one do not want my children having to read and discuss homosexuality in school! My family participated in passing out door hangers in our neighborhood last Saturday. We were able to hang 91 hangers!!! What a neat experience to go out as a family unit and have people come out and say that they will vote yes. Please go to this site if you have any questions on this proposition. http://www.YesForMarriage.com
I hope I don't offend too many of you that read this but this is Wendy's opinion and I'm sticking to it!

Boy will be Boys---UGH

Well this certainly has been an eventful week for 2 of my boys! Monday, Dave and I were preparing to have FHE before he left for work at 5:30. We had told the boys that they needed to be home by 4:30, so instead of leaving our house they had about 8 boys from the neighborhood come over to have their daily tackle football game. Everything was going well until Skyler tackled Hunter into the only dead bush I have in the front yard. Not only did he hit it, but he slammed into the only branch that was sticking out! All of a sudden we heard crying and screaming in the front room. I went in and saw Hunter's leg, under the kneecap he had a pretty deep gash. We gathered all of our kids up and headed for the walk in clinic. He received 7 stitches that will stay in for 2 weeks. It took so long that we were only able to get ice cream for FHE.
On Friday, Dave and I went to the Snowflake/Blue Ridge game. Coming home I got a call from Clay, screaming and all I could hear in the background was screaming. When I finally could halfway understand him, he said that Skyler had been shot by the b-b gun. I thought he had been shot in the face or something, so I told him to give the phone to Skyler. He was crying so hard that I told him to give the phone to Hunter. He told me that his friend Neil, who was spending the night, accidentally shot him. They were watching the movie Halloween on t.v. and got scared so they got the b-b gun for protection. Neil had put the safety on and had it nose down. Skyler was next to him on the couch and some how when Neil bent down to get the t.v. clicker the gun went off. It hit Skyler about 4 inches above the knee. The b-b went in and traveled about 4 inches across his leg. At 10:00 p.m. we ended up in the E.R. They took x-rays and thank goodness we have the b-b's that don't fragment. So with a little surgery in the E.R., they took it out and put in 3 stitches, which will come out in a week. The doctor gave Skyler the b-b in a cup for a souvenir. He also had to get a Tetnus shot and will be on an antibiotic for a week. As for now, the gun is put up for a very long time!!! On the way home Skyler said that he wanted to sell the b-b gun and get a real gun so that he and Dave could go hunting together! Are you kidding me! That idea was "shot" down real fast!!!!!!
So as you see we have had an eventful week, hopefully Clay won't feel left out and do something to get stitches too. Hope your week was not as eventful as mine.
