One out of the house

We took Summer to St. George last week so that she could get some experiences on her own. We were able to get her into the Raintree Apartments, which is a 1/2 a block from Dixie State College. She has the neatest roommates! They are both from Utah and are in their second year of college. The girl she rooms with is a returned missionary, her name is Emily. They have so much in common, Summer is so excited to be in this apartment. She has a swimming pool right outside her door, and they have a washer and dryer in the apt. The door is a keyless entry, so no lost keys to worry about. They are very strict in their policies. No smoking, drinking, inappropriate books or magazines and no boys overnight for any reason. The landlords are really nice and have really helped Summer in this transition. My brother and sister's families have really helped her out too. Thanks guys for all that you have helped her with, you are the best!!!!
We went to the LDS employement center and got a few places to apply for a job. The first one we went to was a floral store. She told them she has no experience in this field, but they had her put a bouquet together and after doing that they gave her the job!! She started that day, part-time for now. She is going to look for another part-time job this week. She is hoping to get into the Phlebotomy course in August. I will keep you updated on this new adventure for her and for us. Dave has had a hard time letting her go, but knows this is such a great opportunity for her.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I want to wish all the mother's a beautiful Mother's Day! Especially my mom, who right now is on a cruise ship sailing away to Alaska. I didn't appreciate my mom growing up, but after having my own children I am so grateful for everything she taught me. I am so grateful to her for all the patience she showed to me. I know there were many times she probably would have liked to have strangled me, but always kept her cool. She showed me how to be a good house keeper,(I know you couldn't tell it now), taught me how to make bread and even if I failed at something she was there to give an encouraging word. I still haven't grasped her "green thumb", but I admire her for always having the most beautiful yard in Heber. I LOVE you mom!! Also a big thank you to my mother-in-law. Thank you for raising a great son!!!! He gives you all the credit for teaching him the things he needed to know growing up. He loves and admires you so much. I LOVE you also, you are a great mom to me too!
