You Belong in 1987

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

The on going saga of the eye!!

I had an eye appointment yesterday and found out that my eye is doing really well! I am now 20/100, I have never been this high before. I am so excited to see if it will stay that way when the oil bubble comes out. My doctor is hoping that I will be able to see a few lines lower on the eye chart. I have another appointment next Monday and in September I will see my surgeon, hopefully I can get the bubble out!!!
I feel that this whole experience has been a blessing, my sight is improving and it probably would have never done this if it hadn't happened. The priesthood blessing I received was everything I needed to hear, I know Heavenly Father knows and loves me. My family and friends have been such an awesome support to me. I still have limitations, I can't drive at night because all the cars become blurry and I don't think the other drivers would appreciate someone ramming into them! I am not supposed to carry more than a gallon of milk (in weight) for another week and a half. All in all, I am doing great!!!

Eye Update

I hope I can see straight long enough to update you all on my wonderful world of looking through a bubble!! Seriously, I am actually doing very well. I had the surgery which was pretty scary, only because if you are claustrophobic, like I am, you will totally understand. They put a paper covering over my face and had a hole opened over my right eye. I was awake during the procedure and all I could think of was that if they moved one inch over I could be suffocated! The doctors and nurses were really good and careful though. They put an oil bubble in my eye and that will have to be removed in 8 weeks. My eye has been black and blue for a week now, I can't even blame it on Dave because he was in Mexico this whole time. It's pretty much red from irritation all the time, and it is like I'm looking through a bubble. The most exciting thing I've learned is that I can see so much better out of this eye without my glasses!!!! So I'm hoping that with time it will improve even more! Thank you for all of the thoughts and prayers in my behalf. I truly felt them and appreciated it so much.
Dave finally made it home from Mexico, he had an awesome time and the Adams' Family loved everything they did. They were able to see pyramids they haven't seen yet and went to Belize City, Belize. The only real trouble they had was that one of the boys decide he wanted to lift up an iguana. When he picked it up it chomped on his arm, putting a huge gash across the width of his forearm. Pretty scary, he is doing well but he will have to be checked for rabies. Hopefully the Adams' will spread the word about the trip and we will get some more going.

Blue Ridge All Stars

Well our boys lost the good fight. They played Mt. Eldon from Flagstaff. The score ended up 21-1. I was told that Hunter did an awesome job catching the whole game. I am so proud of our boys, the tournament directors were very impressed with our team and their great sportsmanship on the field and in the stands. We actually beat out Snowflake, Payson, and Winslow to take 4th place!!!! Hunter said they received 2 pins to place on their hats. The remaining 3 teams are all from the Flagstaff area. I have to admit I am a little glad we don't have to go to Bullhead City .
A big thank you to Greg, Grant, David H., and Cody for coaching , we really appreciate your service and commitment to these young boys. Can't wait for next year.

My bad luck!!

Last Friday I started seeing floaters in my right eye, by Sunday I couldn't see out of it at all! I called my eye doctor and he told me to come in first thing Monday morning. I thought it wasn't anything to worry about. Just go in, get a few drops and head off to Hunter's game in Flagstaff. WRONG- I have a detached retina. They hurried me off to Phoenix to Dr. Alam for surgery. I get there thanks to my sister-in-law, Becky, did a bunch of tests and they tell me that since it was completely detached and the macula, it didn't require emergency surgery. This prognosis is not really good. I will have surgery on Thursday, but having the vision I had before will probably not return as good. They will be putting in an oil bubble that will have to be there for about 8 weeks, I will have blurred vision for awhile, then go in for a second surgery to remove the bubble. Hopefully I will be able to see alot better than I do now. If any of you are nearsighted please look for the symptoms. Floaters, blobs that look like lava lamp bubbles, or any loss of vision in the eye. Get to a doctor immediately!!!!!! I am totally bumbed, but what do you do? I will be going to Cancun with blurred vision, but at least I'll have some sight.
On to happier news, Hunter's team beat Payson last night!! I kept in touch with my friend Denise and she said that Hunter was the closing pitcher and struck the boys out to win the game! He also got two really good hits that brought in 2 runs. They won 8-2. They play tonight at 7:30, I don't get to go to this game either, which really ticks me off! He doesn't have any family there to cheer him on, Dave left for Mexico yesterday and I can't drive. He does understand this, thank goodness. I am so grateful for the team parents that have taken him in. GO BLUERIDGE ALLSTARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
