Well this certainly has been an eventful week for 2 of my boys! Monday, Dave and I were preparing to have FHE before he left for work at 5:30. We had told the boys that they needed to be home by 4:30, so instead of leaving our house they had about 8 boys from the neighborhood come over to have their daily tackle football game. Everything was going well until Skyler tackled Hunter into the only dead bush I have in the front yard. Not only did he hit it, but he slammed into the only branch that was sticking out! All of a sudden we heard crying and screaming in the front room. I went in and saw Hunter's leg, under the kneecap he had a pretty deep gash. We gathered all of our kids up and headed for the walk in clinic. He received 7 stitches that will stay in for 2 weeks. It took so long that we were only able to get ice cream for FHE.
On Friday, Dave and I went to the Snowflake/Blue Ridge game. Coming home I got a call from Clay, screaming and all I could hear in the background was screaming. When I finally could halfway understand him, he said that Skyler had been shot by the b-b gun. I thought he had been shot in the face or something, so I told him to give the phone to Skyler. He was crying so hard that I told him to give the phone to Hunter. He told me that his friend Neil, who was spending the night, accidentally shot him. They were watching the movie Halloween on t.v. and got scared so they got the b-b gun for protection. Neil had put the safety on and had it nose down. Skyler was next to him on the couch and some how when Neil bent down to get the t.v. clicker the gun went off. It hit Skyler about 4 inches above the knee. The b-b went in and traveled about 4 inches across his leg. At 10:00 p.m. we ended up in the E.R. They took x-rays and thank goodness we have the b-b's that don't fragment. So with a little surgery in the E.R., they took it out and put in 3 stitches, which will come out in a week. The doctor gave Skyler the b-b in a cup for a souvenir. He also had to get a Tetnus shot and will be on an antibiotic for a week. As for now, the gun is put up for a very long time!!! On the way home Skyler said that he wanted to sell the b-b gun and get a real gun so that he and Dave could go hunting together! Are you kidding me! That idea was "shot" down real fast!!!!!!
So as you see we have had an eventful week, hopefully Clay won't feel left out and do something to get stitches too. Hope your week was not as eventful as mine.

Well, you certainly can't deny that the ER is your home away from home! Your family has been there more in the last month than we were all the years you and your siblings were in the 30 years you were growing up! What luck! Love ya tons! Mom
One puking incident is better than all you've been through this week! I'm sure I'll get when my boys get older!
What the freaking heck?!?!?!?! I'm sorry Hunter and Skyler! Get feeling better soon!
Oh my gosh, that is crazy! I hope they are both feeling better!
Holy cow...I think you need another vacation soon! lol
I am going to get you my good cookie recipe I promise..I have just been lazy;)
It is hard to think that you are lucky that all your boys needed were stitches. Just glad nothing permanent happened.
wow!! so I need to make sure I have insurance on my boys at all times?!?!
I added you to my blog (if I got the email right). and I was thinking that last night I may have been a little distracted, so if I walked off in the middle of a conversation, I am SO sorry, I was worried about losing my kids! But it was good to see you!!
My boys are only 2 and 4 right now, but I think this is a glimpse into my future with them! :)
