Kisses for Callie

I had a request to put this blog site up so I went to Lisa's blog and copied the details, so I hope she doesn't mind. Its a great cause for a beautiful little girl. If anyone can help please do so. The blog is www. kissesforcallie.blogspot.com
Also if you go to Arbys in Show Low tonight from 5-8 they are donating 20% of their profits to the cause!!

Kisses for Callie,
Hello Family, Friends ! Just wanted to let everyone know if they haven't heard already that we have set up a blog in honor of our little cousin Callie who was run over by a vehicle a few weeks back. It is called "Kisses For Callie", in an effort to raise a TON of money for little Callie Jane Butler and her road to recovery.

Callie's cousin Brittany McNeil has an upcoming Evening of Excellence program with her church youth organization. As her value project she has chosen to organize and carry out a benefit yard sale with all proceeds benefiting Callie. This blog was designed to get the word out and "call all angels" in an effort to encourage them to clean out those closets and give to a worthy cause! The exact date, location and details are still being hammered out, however we will keep you posted.

For now, please gather up your items and contact Brittany or Lisa McNeil at www.kissesforcallie@live.com. We will make arrangements to pick up your items, or if you can drop them off that is also terrific! Monetary donations are also gladly excepted. While many of you may live in the White Mountains, please remember that this sale will be held sometime in late October, so if you are anyone that you know will be traveling down to the valley before them, please send your items with them!!!

If anyone has any new items that they would like to donate for an online auction, please let us know as well!

Please post this link on your blogs and send out emails to everyone that you know. We want this to spread like wildfire! The more donations we receive, the more we can help relieve the financial burden being felt by her family at this time, which is the last thing that we want them to worry about.

There is also a link that is set up by Callie's sister Ashley which allows you to make an online donation via Paypal.

Thank you for your love and support. More information will follow soon!

Love,
Lisa and Brittany

Kristal's Products!!!

My sister's new site has some new pendants that she is selling, they are really unique and cute!! Stop by her site and take a look. http://joyclan.blogspot.com/2008/09/new-product-in-my-store.html
I had surgery on September 19 to take the oil bubble out. The surgery went really well. I have a little discomfort but that should be relieved in about another week. My eye sight is actually a little worse than when the bubble was in. Its pretty cloudy and blurry, the doctor said that it should get better with time. I also have to have cataract surgery on both eyes. So hopefully by the time this all is done I will have near perfect vision??!!!!
Autumn got glasses for the first time about a week ago. She is so dang cute in them! I will try to get her picture and post it soon. She loves them and loves being able to see the chalkboards. She has received so many comments on how good she looks. I think it has really helped her self-esteem. She was also made the Laurel class president. She is so excited to be a leader.

Awesome Day!!!!!!

First off, my sister, Kandra had her baby boy today! He is so cute and precious. His name is Gavin Reid Owens. Kandra says he has my feet(poor boy), which may be a good sign that he will be tall. I am so proud of her, she had an epidural but was still in a lot of pain. He was almost 8 pounds and he is 20in. long. Look at her blog and I'm sure you'll agree!
I went to see Dr. Alam today and he said everything looks great, so great that I will be having surgery on Sept. 19 to remove the oil bubble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said that it looks like a cataract is forming in my eye too, but we will cross that bridge later. I am so blessed that I still have my sight and I am healing well. Thanks again for all your prayers and concern.

Another Plug!!!!!!

Here is another shameless plug this time for my sister-in-law, Becky and her friend Felicia. They have just started a business, Get-Away-Groceries, for people who come to the White Mountains and are staying at a resort. When you are getting ready to go to the resort, you can go to their site, they have a grocery list and you can order what you want, pay for it, and they will go to the store and pick up everything on the order. Then they will take it to your room and put the groceries away for you. It is really nice because you don't have to worry about going to the store after along drive. Take a look at the site to the right and please tell any of your friends. They have a LLC so it is a trusted business!

The Wonderful World of Wendy

I am doing about the same with my eye. I go to Phoenix on Sept. 4, to see Dr. Alam. He was supposed to come to Show Low on the 3, but couldn't and me being extremely inpatient, got an appointment down there instead. I'm hoping we will be able to set a date on getting the oil bubble out! I'll let you all know what happens.
Summer just got a JOB!!!! She and one of her roommates found a help wanted at the Dixie College. She will be helping a paraplegic at nights. She will be working 2-3 nights a week for $50 a night. She is super excited and so is the Skousen Bank!!!!! This is such a great opportunity for her, she is so good at caregiving.
I just want to put a shameless plug in for my sister, Kristal. She has just moved to Salt Lake City, (sob, sob, sob), but she has just started her own little business on the Internet doing scrapbook pages, announcements for all occasions, and other things. I want this to be successful for her so if any of you wouldn't mind putting her link on your blogs, I would really appreciate it. The best way I could think of is by word of fellow bloggers. Take a look at the link to the right and see how creative this girl is. I'm not being biased, she is terrific!!!!!! Love ya, Kris.
Also a big good luck to my other sister, Kandra, who will be giving birth to a baby boy anytime now!!!! You and Jared will be Freakin Awesome parents!!!! Just be prepared for Aunt Wendy to spoil him rotten,(you know that's my job now). Love you too, Kandrella. P.S. Remember I get to babysit when you come home in October!!!!

We're Baaaack!!!!

Hey to all my fellow bloggers,
Its been awhile since I last wrote, we went to Mexico on vacation. Dave found an all inclusive resort that had just opened up in December. What an awesome place! It was absolutely gorgeous. We also went with some of Dave's family. The kids had so much fun swimming in the ocean, all though it was extremely rocky, and drank so many pina-coladas and strawberry daquiries! We ate at the buffet restaurants that were there, they were pretty good. They serve alot of the same things everyday, but tried to put in a few new things also. The pasteries were so good, it was hard picking one thing so I would get a small piece from all of them!
We went to Tulum and Xel-ha. Tulum was so pretty, that's where my blog family picture is at. This place has ancient pyramids that overlook the ocean. They had a wall all around it and when the Spaniards came by boat to try to over take it, they saw the wall and kept on sailing. There is one pyramid that is to believed to have the 3 Godheads and one that has Christ decending.
Clay celebrated his 9th b-day while we were there, so we went to Xel-ha, this is the place where the movie Blue Lagoon with Brooke Shields was filmed, he had so much fun snorkling and swimming in the lagoon. Dave took him, Summer, and Hunter on a tube ride, which takes about an hour to do the full ride. They were pretty tired after that.
I tried to put up pictures on the other computer but it kept booting me out, so if I can figure out how to get some pictures up I will ASAP!!
